Venezuelan Guasacaca Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 ripe avocado, seeded, skinned and chopped
- 1 small red ripe tomato, diced
- a little olive oil
- vinegar to taste
- chopped hot chili
- chopped green pepper
- salt and pepper
- 1 hard-cooked egg, chopped
- chopped parsley
- chopped fresh coriander
Method
- Chop a ripe, unblemished, seeded and skinned avocado. Add to it a small, diced red ripe tomato, a little olive oil, vinegar to taste, chopped hot chili, chopped green pepper, salt, pepper, chopped hard-cooked egg, chopped parsley and chopped fresh coriander. All ingredients are added more or less to taste.
- You may vary this by adding chopped onion and/or minced garlic, even a dash of imported hot mustard. Serve it with barbecued or charcoal-grilled meats.
Notes
Newspaper Q&A clipping. A Venezuelan sauce very much like some versions of guacamole, served with grilled beef.
