Cream Cheese Cookies
Ingredients
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup margarine or butter, softened
- 1 cup Bisquick baking mix
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- 1 pkg 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla
- 1 egg
Method
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a square pan, 8x8x2 inches. Beat the brown sugar and margarine until fluffy. Stir in the baking mix and walnuts until the mixture is crumbly; reserve 1 cup. Press the remaining mixture in the pan. Bake 12 minutes.
- Mix the cream cheese and granulated sugar; beat in the remaining ingredients until smooth. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the layer in the pan; sprinkle with the reserved crumbly mixture. Bake until the center is firm, about 25 minutes. Cut into about 2-inch squares. Store the cookies in the refrigerator.

16 cookies. From General Mills (Bisquick). High Altitude directions (3500 to 6500 feet): heat the oven to 375 degrees.
