Ingredients

  • 1 ripe fresh pineapple

Method

  1. Quarter: Cut the pineapple lengthwise into quarters, right through the leafy crown.
  2. Core: Cut out and discard the core section from each quarter.
  3. Separate: Slide the knife between the rind and the fruit to separate the fruit from the shell.
  4. Slice: Cut the freed fruit crosswise into slices or chunks.
  5. Serve: Dole pineapple is delicious served alone, or used to enhance salads, appetizers and desserts. It also complements other fresh fruits, ice cream, sour cream and all kinds of cheeses. Served in the shell, sliced or chunked, fresh pineapple provides a decorative table setting.
