Baked Stuffed Whole Fish
Ingredients
- 1 mackerel, cod, bass, bluefish, red snapper, whitefish, etc. whole fish
- 1 savory stuffing egg, beaten
- ¼ tsp savory stuffing dried thyme leaves
- ½ tsp savory stuffing dill seed
- 2 tbsp savory stuffing chopped parsley
- ¼ tsp savory stuffing; plus dash pepper salt
- ½ cup savory stuffing butter, melted
- 3 tbsp savory stuffing finely chopped onion
- 2 tbsp savory stuffing hot water
- 3 cup savory stuffing white bread crumbs
- 2 tbsp for brushing melted butter
Method
- Preheat the oven to 500 degrees. Combine the egg, thyme, dill seed, parsley, salt and pepper in a large bowl, mix well. In hot butter, saute the chopped onion about 5 minutes. To the seasoning, add the onion-butter mixture, hot water and bread crumbs, tossing lightly with a fork.
- Sprinkle the inside of the fish with salt and pepper. Place the fish in a large shallow baking dish; stuff. Close the opening with skewers or toothpicks.
- Brush the top with 2 tablespoons melted butter and bake uncovered for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to 400 degrees; bake 10 minutes per pound or until the fish flakes easily. Serve with lemon wedges.
