Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies
Ingredients
- 2 square 1 ounce each unsweetened chocolate
- ½ cup butter or margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1½ cup filling confectioners' sugar
- ½ cup filling creamy peanut butter
- ¼ cup filling butter or margarine, softened
- 2½ tbsp filling; 2 to 3 tablespoons light cream or milk
- 1 square glaze; 1 ounce semisweet baking chocolate
- 1 tbsp glaze butter or margarine
Method
- In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate and butter over low heat; set aside. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and pale colored. Add the flour and melted chocolate; stir well. Pour into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until the brownies test done. Cool.
- For the filling, beat the confectioners' sugar, peanut butter and butter in a mixing bowl. Stir in the cream or milk until the mixture reaches desired spreading consistency. Spread over the cooled brownies; cover and chill until firm.
- For the glaze, melt the chocolate and butter in a saucepan, stirring until smooth. Drizzle over the filling. Chill before cutting. Store in the refrigerator.
