Soda Pop Cake

Ingredients

• 1 pkg regular white cake mix
• egg whites
• 12 oz 1 can; use compatible flavors such as strawberry soda fruit flavored soda pop
• 8 oz 1 carton non-dairy whipped topping, thawed
• 16 oz 1 package; e.g. frozen strawberries frozen fruit

Method

1. Follow the package directions for mixing the cake, using the recommended number of egg whites and substituting soda pop in the same amount as liquid called for on the box. Bake in two layers or one 9 x 13-inch pan as directed on the box. Cool and frost the large cake in the pan; cool the layers in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out.
2. Frosting: Thaw the fruit, drain and reserve the liquid. Combine the topping and fruit with a mixer, add the reserved juice as necessary to make a light, fluffy topping. Frost the cake, store in the refrigerator.

Notes

Use compatible flavors such as strawberry soda and frozen strawberries.
