Ingredients

  • 2 cup chocolate wafer crumbs
  • ⅓ cup melted butter
  • 1 pkg 8-oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2¼ cup milk, divided
  • 1 tsp grated lemon rind
  • 1 pkg 3 3/4-oz instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • ⅓ cup powdered dessert topping mix
  • ½ tsp vanilla

Method

  1. Combine the crumbs and melted butter; reserve 3/4 cup for topping. Press the remaining crumbs into the bottom of an 8-by-12-inch pan.
  2. Blend the cream cheese and 1/2 cup milk; add the lemon rind, pudding mix and 1 1/4 cups milk. Beat slowly for 1 minute. Spoon over the crumbs; top with the strawberries.
  3. In a small mixer bowl combine the dessert topping mix, vanilla and the remaining 1/2 cup milk. Beat until the mixture peaks. Spread over the berries; top with the remaining crumbs. Chill several hours or overnight.
