Ultimate Double Chocolate Brownies
Ingredients
- ¾ cup baking cocoa
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ⅔ cup butter or margarine, melted, divided
- ½ cup boiling water
- 2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1⅓ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup coarsely chopped pecans
- 2 cup 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chunks
Method
- In a large bowl, combine the cocoa and baking soda; blend in 1/3 cup melted butter. Add the boiling water; stir until well blended. Stir in the sugar, eggs and remaining butter. Add the flour, vanilla and salt. Stir in the pecans and chocolate chunks.
- Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until the brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool.
