Ingredients

  • 6 12 oz each fryer breasts
  • 2 cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tsp celery salt
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 4 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1¾ cup dry bread crumbs
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup shortening

Method

  1. Cut the chicken breasts in half. Wipe well with a damp cloth.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sour cream with the lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, paprika, garlic, salt and pepper. Add the chicken to the sour cream mixture, coating well. Let stand covered overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. Next day, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Remove the chicken from the sour cream mix. Roll in the crumbs, coating well. Arrange in a single layer in a large shallow pan.
  4. Melt the butter and shortening in a small pan. Spoon half over the chicken. Bake the chicken uncovered 45 minutes. Spoon the rest of the butter mixture over the chicken. Bake 10-15 minutes longer or until the chicken is tender and nicely browned.
