Ingredients

  • 1 cup flavored popcorns granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup flavored popcorns water
  • 2 tsp flavored popcorns; 1/4 oz. LorAnn oil flavoring of your choice
  • flavored popcorns food colorings as desired
  • flavored popcorns confectioner's sugar
  • 2½ qt flavored popcorns popcorn
  • 3¾ cup hard candy sugar

  • 1 tsp hard candy LorAnn flavoring

Method

  1. Flavored Popcorns: Combine the sugar and water, cooking on high heat until a thermometer reaches 240 degrees F. Add the food coloring and flavoring. Pour over the popcorn. Mix and sprinkle with powdered sugar. After cooling, keep fresh in a tightly closed container.
  2. Hard Candy: Mix the first three ingredients (sugar, corn syrup, water) in a large saucepan. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Boil, without stirring, until the temperature reaches 310 degrees F or until drops of syrup form hard brittle threads in cold water. Remove from the heat. After boiling has ceased, stir in the flavoring and coloring. Pour onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Cool; break into pieces. Store in airtight containers. Makes in excess of two pounds.

Notes

Save your aluminum tins during the year. Colored popcorn is also a special treat for trick-or-treaters.
