Ingredients

  • 2¼ cup flour
  • 1 tsp level baking soda
  • 1 tsp level salt
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • ¾ cup dark-brown sugar, packed
  • 2 stick 1/2 lb sweet butter, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 pkg 12 oz Nestlé semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Bake 9 minutes.
  2. Mix the flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl.
  3. Mix the 2 sugars at low speed. Add the butter in small goblets, mixing first at low speed and then high. Beat the mix till pale, light and very fluffy.
  4. Add the vanilla at low speed then beat at high for a few seconds. Add the eggs at low speed then high for the final second. The mix should look creamed, not curdled.
  5. Add the flour, baking soda and salt, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for about 9 minutes.
