Ingredients

  • 3 oz Roquefort cheese, crumbled
  • 2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp chopped chives
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp or more garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup dairy sour cream
  • ½ cup buttermilk

Method

  1. Blend the cheese, mayonnaise, chives and seasonings. Stir in the sour cream and buttermilk. Chill in the refrigerator.
  2. At serving time, if the dressing is too thick, thin with buttermilk.

Notes

A fresh salad topping second to none. Yield: about 1 quart. Vera kept two copies of this recipe: a Rosauers card (Dressing DR-1, "Famous Roquefort Dressing") and a newspaper clipping ("Fabulous Roquefort Dressing").
