Ingredients
- see individual recipes in the steps below
Method
- ONION-ORANGE GLAZED CHICKEN — Ingredients: 1 envelope Lipton Onion soup mix; 1 can (6 oz) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed; 12 drumsticks (or a 2-2 1/2 lb chicken, cut into serving pieces). Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a small bowl, blend the Lipton Onion Soup mix and orange concentrate. In a large, shallow baking pan, arrange the chicken; brush with half the onion-orange mixture. Bake, basting frequently with the remaining mixture, 45 minutes (1 hour for chicken pieces) or until the chicken is tender. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
- SKILLET CHICKEN AND MUSHROOMS — Ingredients: 2 tablespoons butter or margarine; 2 to 2 1/2 pound chicken, cut into serving pieces; 1 envelope Lipton Beef Flavor Mushroom mix (or 1 Onion-Mushroom mix); 1 can (16 oz) whole tomatoes, undrained; 1 onion, sliced; 1 clove garlic, finely chopped. In a large skillet, melt the butter and brown the chicken. Stir in the Lipton Beef Flavor Mushroom mix blended with the tomatoes, onion and garlic. Simmer covered, stirring occasionally, 45 minutes or until the chicken is tender. Makes about 4 servings.
- CHICKEN CREOLE BAKE — Ingredients: 2 to 2 1/2 pound chicken, cut into serving pieces; 2 envelopes Lipton Onion-Mushroom mix; 2 1/4 cups boiling water; 1 can (16 oz) whole tomatoes, drained and chopped; 1 cup regular rice; 1 cup chopped green pepper. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. In a 3-quart oblong baking dish, place the chicken, skin-side up, in a single layer; bake uncovered 30 minutes. Reduce the oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, blend the Lipton Onion-Mushroom mix with the water, tomatoes, rice and green pepper; add to the baking dish. Bake covered 30 minutes or until the chicken and rice are tender. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
